When you’re the biggest global producer of coffee, you take pride in your product. World Explorations Rio de Janeiro Espresso is our experts’ creative interpretation of the Brazilian cafezinho, an all-Brazilian Arabica blend honoring the heritage.

Embodying the spirit of this lively and colorful city, World Explorations Rio de Janeiro Espresso reflects the country’s deeply rooted heritage of both growing and drinking coffee. An intense, exotic and velvety espresso crafted exclusively with Brazilian Arabicas. Its unique touch of sandalwood and herbal notes will give you a glimpse into the Brazilian way of life.
Coffee tastes vary across this expansive country and our blend’s complexity reflects that. We brought together beans from the Cerrado district, the Espirito Santo state, and the renowned pulped natural processed Bourbon variety from Minas Gerais. One big salute to some of Brazil’s finest growing regions, iconic processing method and revered variety.

DESCRIPTION
Exotic and velvety, this all-Brazilian Arabica blend is partly dark roasted to enhance the body and bitterness needed for that cafezinho character. In the cup, the walnut, sandalwood and herbal notes of rosemary and thyme capture the passion and spirit that lie behind both the cafezinho and Rio de Janeiro’s carioca coffees. This espresso’s dark roast and full-bodied, bitter, roasty character invite the generous addition of sugar or even the drawing out to a longer, smoother cup (à la carioca) with the same volume of hot water as coffee. Drink it like a local: Double your espresso with hot water to taste the typical smooth Carioca coffee.
SENSORIAL PROFILE
A pleasantly bitter and velvety-textured cup with unexpected walnut, sandalwood and herbal notes reminiscent of thyme and rosemary.
ROASTING PROCESS
Espirito Santo beans are roasted separately for an optimal time as to preserve the herbal notes. The beans from the other regions are roasted together in a dark roasting mode and for much longer to enhance body, intensity and bitter notes.
MILK DESCRIPTION
Adjust the coffee serving size to 25ml to create a delicious cappuccino that is a sweet sensation of salty, bitter and toasted notes reminiscent of salted peanuts. Or, add 40ml of coffee to 100ml of frothed milk to create a Latte Macchiato with sweet, round walnut notes and a light smoky aftertaste.
WORD OF EXPERT: “This coffee takes me straight back to the Brazilian farm I was born in. Some say our scent has the strongest tie to memory, and I couldn’t agree more. To me, this coffee’s delicious roasty aroma is what home smells like.”Marcelo Zanetti – Global Coffee Expertise Manager
